Trip Information

The third highest mountain having 8,586m elevation in the world is known as Mt. Kanchenjunga. This mountain is located far north-east of Nepal in the border of Nepal and Sikkim (India).

Mt. Kanchenjunga was officially announced the third highest mountain in the world in 1856 after conducting measurements survey. It was first climbed by Joe Brown and George Ban on 25 May 1955 (British Expedition).

There are five peaks in Kanchanjunga range, therefore the name of Kanchanjunga (The Five Treasures of Snows) is based on it, three of the five peaks are Main, Central and South with the height of above 8,450m and two other peaks lies in Taplejung, Nepal.
